SKILLS, Inc. provides employment career opportunities in Newport, Skowhegan, Waterville and surrounding communities. Since most of these opportunities involve working with individuals with developmental disabilities, SKILLS, Inc. provides extensive paid training. Employees attend a 45 hour course to become certified as Direct Support Professionals (DSP), as well as, CPR, First Aid, MANDT and CRMA (Certified Residential Medication Aide) trainings. All trainings, except for CRMA, are taught by SKILLS,Inc. staff, using hands-on experience gained throughout their years working in the field of developmental disabilities.
